x-man, I am familiar with the term 'dukkha', but I am not a mind-reader and was unclear to what point he was making and why? I thought to draw him out a bit. For instance, I couldn't unpack the "That introduced a dry-hair, scratchy-shirt Puritanism we see in American Buddhism to this day." Poetic as the statement might be, it was a bit general and slanderous. Which "American Buddhism", and based on what source? Was it based on Steve Hagen's book that RMP so highly recommended? Am I to take such statements by Michael, or you, as literal and beyond question? Marsha
