Did'nt see that one yet, Spielburgs "A.I." was depressing, I'm a big
fan of early american sci-fi.
I read "I, Robot" as a short story in an old mag from the 40's" I,
Robot" is a science fiction short story by Eando Binder about a robot
named Adam Link. Which I confused with Asimovs book by the same title.
Thus the disapointment.
Now the jewish concept of the Golem is an interesting one. Ever read the
gnostic scriptures?
It accounts the first draft of man as a golem created by the
"authorities".

[Case]
I never got around to Spielberg's AI. The Robin William movie was actually
Bicentennial Man.

I have read some of the Gnostic writing but they are incomprehensible
without being put into some context. Elaine Pagel's books are very helpful
with this as is Timothy Luke Johnson's Lost Christianities.
