This is my first year of 2nd, and I'm doing Reading Workshop from 11-1 daily. That includes a read-aloud, Read to Self, Read to Someone, Word Work, and guided reading groups, as well as a 20-minute outside break. We have math 9:15-10:15, and then lunch (brunch) at 10:20. So far it's working great. I personally wouldn't want to do it in the afternoon, because I'm tired, too!!
