I checked Rapids Lake for the previously reported Hooded Warbler but
did not find it nor was the Western Grebe on the lake. There was
still a Tennessee Warbler hanging around. It may have been the same
from this past weekend as it was in the same tree. I also
found/refound a very cooperative and inquisitive Black-billed Cuckoo.
He came out to within 15 feet on an open limb. I wonder if it was the
same from a couple weeks ago that was almost as inquisitive. The
Yellow-billed Cuckoos were there but were not as cooperative. There was
a pair of Baltimore Orioles that were on a nest as well. The
Cerulean Warblers and Henslow's Sparrow were still at Carver Park as of
yesterday. This
time 2 Ceruleans were about 1/2 a mile northeast of the nature center along
Maple
Trail. They were both males. I did not find the one that had been
northwest of the nature center.
