Two main reasons -- one, as in the above, people confuse it with html
and reject it. Two it is simply different from what people are used to
and some people either reject that change or prefer what they had
before.
Don't get me wrong -- I personally *love* the idea of f=f, but
implemented this way it does cause some problems.
It may be experience or lack thereof, but for me personally, I find it
easier to associate '> ' with quoting (which is one of the reasons I
dislike people using ":" and "|").
