Yes, and that's what Mozilla does, *if you prefer that*. I think that
most people prefer to send plaintext (because that's what most mailers
can read), but see HTML (because it's easier to read, IMO).
If you are a die-hard plaintext fan, you probably use mutt anyway.
Mozilla is not your tool then.

Following the same logic, you should retrieve your mail via |telnet
pop.yourisp.com 110|, because it is "logical" to enter POP commands to
retrieve mail from a POP server.
From my POV, plaintext msg is just the raw, on-the-wire format. If you
disagree, change your prefs and Mozilla will do what you like. I really
don't understand your problem.

Right. You probably didn't even bother to read the spec, but you know
that what I say is wrong. We had a long, techical discussion on that
(check bugzilla, if you're interested), and the outcome is that we have
to use <blockquote type=cite> in the composer to make flowed work right.
