DDS3 tape is a bit cheaper per MB. :)

The quality you lose depends on your defination of quality, your
listeners, and you audio source. Shorten would take up twice the space
roughly.

If you don't care if it's absolutly identical to the orignal, then 320Kb/s
should be fine. With some pieces, with some listeners, in some conditions,
there will be a measurable difference. But I seriously doubt that you
could say that it lessened the quality of the expirence.

Does anyone have any comments on the quality of remp3ing audio at a lower
bitrate vs coming off the orignal.
