It's not mistake..... maybe.
it is because Mark deleted the old "loopold.c" code from LAME.
"loopold.c" is too old and not mentainanced.
I think default mode at lower bitrate should be "-m f" (but this is
deleted...), or "-m j" (always calculate MS/LR threshold. maybe slower...).
FYI, in my snapshot version, "loopold.c" was also deleted and the default
setting of the lower bitrate is "-m j"
