Hello all,
I would like to formally introduce myself to the "most forward thinking"
discussion group of Minneapolis politics and policy. My name is Cap
O'Rourke and I am the Campaign Manager of the Sayles Belton re-election
Campaign. I look forward to participating in this forum and reading the
many posts from concerned citizens, however, I will not be entering into
heavy debate on behalf of Mayor Sayles Belton. I will clear up some rumors
and mistruths and make other postings on behalf of the campaign. I have
been impressed by the discussions that I have seen and hope that these
continue through out the summer and fall. So let me clear up the first
misunderstanding of the Mayor's position. I have been reading a number of
posts as of late regarding the Mayor's decision to attend, or not to attend,
candidate forums. The Mayor DOES want to attend public candidate forums in
which all three candidates can discuss the issues facing Minneapolis. I am
currently working with some local papers to schedule a forum in late april.
If there are other forums I would be happy to hear of them and I will try to
get the Mayor to attend. I hope to meet many of you this summer.
