Last time I checked, no political party is required to

Stonewall DFLers know how candidates have been a friend to
the community by the time they screen for endorsement. Too,
being gay is no guaraantee that a candidate will be a friend
to GLBT people. For example, closeted GLBT people will often
opt to protect their closets at the expense of the GLBT
community. Roy Cohn was noted for that as was J. Edgar
Hoover.

The first and foremost, no matter the political party, is
whether or not candidates can win an election. Political
parties do not endorse those they do not think can win. 
This is true worldwide. 
Further, David, you already know this.  So what are you
trying to stir up?
