I will again cast my vote for the Northern League/Parade Stadium site if the
Twins are evaporated, for these reasons.

1) It's already there.
2) The city owns it. Any investment required benefits our park board, our city,
us.
3) Great view of downtown, walking distance to many of the cities cultural
attractions.
4) Finally a use for the Guthrie parking ramp?

I care about the Twins. I'll miss the thrill of the "bigs" if they're
contracted, but outdoor baseball would be fantastic, even just the little
Northern League. I won't miss the whiny rich guys begging us to build a new
stadium. I found a lot to agree with Craig Cox's Op/Ed in the latest Observer.
Particularly the sentiment that if this was such a good deal, it would have
already happened. Many wealthy and shrewd business people have passed on the
prospect already (so we better hop on this one right away).

Why should it be left up to us to finance it? If the citizens stand to benefit
so much financially, then somebody should have put the numbers out plainly in
black and white. It should be pitched to us as a guaranteed investment.
Otherwise forget it, we have greater needs. We can't just be funding a
playground/marketplace for the rich, or our priorities are backward. Everything
looks fuzzy. I already have spring fever.
