I absolutely love baseball. I love the game, the history, the artistry, the
beauty, the strategy, the team work. It is, IMHO, the greatest spectator
sport (and the second greatest to play, behind water polo). I enjoy
baseball when the Twins are winning, as they have this season.

I enjoy baseball when the Twins are loosing, as in the resent past. Win or
loose, I got to watch baseball!! I watch baseball often. I used to go to
20-40 Twins games a year, prior to children. Now I go to 5-10 a year. I go
to many more baseball games, if including little league, high school, and
college. I love the game.

That being said, even if they don't "contract," I will very rarely, if ever,
attend another Twins game while they are owned by Carl Pohlad and no other
major league games (which I've done often) while an owner is Commissioner.
Every business strives to create an emotional tie with its consumers.
Baseball has (had?) this. All the major spectator sports have this, and
need it to be successful. But to threaten the fans as they are, they are
inviting apathy. Why should we invest the emotional capital when being
threatened? There are all sorts of reasons to be upset about this. But,
the fact is, if the owners want to take their ball and go home, I don't
believe we can stop them. Carl Pohlad had deceived us, about his initial
"contribution" to the stadium effort, which turned out to be an interest
bearing loan to the state. About North Caroline and Don Beaver. We have no
reason to believe anything he says. Twins in bad financial shape? Look at
Arizona, who had to take a massive loan to make payroll. Both Florida
teams, in worse shape than the Twins.

I love the sport and will continue to enjoy it. I just don't know about
enjoying MLB. Baseball will ALWAYS be in good shape. It's too good a game
to be wreaked. Now MLB? Don't let the door hit you on the butt on your way
out.

Even with that, one thing may get me back. GO CLARK!! If I had the
capital, I would love to be part of your attempt to purchase the Twins.
Let's get back to an owner with an understanding of the GAME, along with the
business. If the Twins get a decent owner and Selig is demoted back to
owner (or better yet, jettisoned completely), I would be back.

I am astounded that the loss of the Twins ranks so low as to warrant
almost no comment on this list.
