With all this talk of a Twins stadium, dare a fan be hopeful?

Or are there too many loose ends to get our hopes of keeping the Twins up?
For example: Why isn't Carl Pohlad part of the discussion -- is he willing
to play ball, or not? (Sorry for the pun). What about the Ciresi group --
where do they weigh in on these two proposals, and is Pohlad willing to sell
to them rather than take the more lucrative MLB offer?

Yes, baseball is a sick industry and saying we want to keep our hand in is
taking a leap of faith that the owners and players will fix its economics, or
at least the Twins will stay profitable -- but to paraphrase Harvey MacKay's
quote in one of the papers' articles, "You gotta play the cards you're
dealt."

The Twins contribute to the economy of Minneapolis and we can ill afford to
lose that contribution, or any other business' contribution for that matter.
They are also part of the fabric of our civic pride, and baseball is an icon
of Americana which should play some sort of role in our deliberations.

As far as I can see RT is being pragmatic, not dogmatic, as I'd expect any
chief executive to be. Let's see what he can do before we rush to judgement
on this one.
