First of all I think it is necessary to talk about the particular history of
Stonewall DFL and Lavender.

It is important to understand that Lavender (ie Steven Rocheford) is lashing
out at both Scott Dibble and Stonewall DFL because both Scott and Stonewall
supported the effort of Lavender employees to unionize. Steven Rocheford and
Lavender had charges brought against them at the National Labor Rights Board
because of Steven's union busting practices (100% of the Lavender staff voted
to unionize and Steven did whatever he good to break the union). Further, it
is important to note that last summer all of the

Tim Petlock was the acting Stonewall DFL Chair for a brief period.

No member of the Stonewall DFL Board engaged in any sort of campaign to silence
anyone with regards to the Catherine Shreeves campaign (of whom I know). Stonewall
DFL has a response to the editorial in Lavender. But please do not take my word
for any of this as I am speaking in my capacity as a community member and not
for the Stonewall DFL.

It is also naive to suggest that GLBT issues are a non-issue in the DFL. I,
as a member of the Stonewall DFL, do not believe that GLBT issues are a non-issue
in the DFL, nor do I believe that other Stonewall members believe that GLBT
issues are non-issues in the party. Quite to the contrary, we have some pretty
homophobic out-state members of the DFL.
