Again, I suggest that you try it outside your car before deciding that the pedestrians will be just fine. Start in Phillips and try biking with your son across Hiawatha Avenue to Ann Sullivan Communication Center, a great k-8 school on 28th Street.

I agree with Jay Clark! I drive my son to the Richfield High School every day from the West Bank. I take 35W there and return on Hiawatha. There is absolutely no logical reason not to move the traffic through at 55 MPH. With usual caution and only walking across on a green light, pedestrians will be just fine!
