In response to Ray Marshall about plowing our snow.
While I agree with his point, we need to consider how much money the city
makes from the tickets for illegal parking tickets.
These tickets of course are handed out in only our most densely populated
areas, not all areas.
Many of these people are also least able to afford this inconvenience in
their lives, but those of us able to afford living somewhere with abundant
off street parking, garages even are spared this inconvenience.
On my very block there were cars parked on both sides of the street before
the plow came. Those in the way of the plow were merely plowed in, not
towed. Why? Does uptown deserve better plowed streets that I do?
I am disappointed in my new Mayor for not following thru on one of the
campaign promises he made to me about fixing Minneapolis's excruciatingly
difficult to comprehend snow emergency plan. Perhaps he fell to the towing
companies and their lobby efforts.
Maybe we would make it even harder to comprehend, if possible, so more cars
could be towed and more tickets issued.
Maybe this could alleviate some budget problems?
