Public health. Public health Public health. It is government's business to protect the public health and it occasionally comes at the expense of complete freedom to operate a licensed privately owned business. If you hate government, you will never accept these decisions.
Government is you. Government is not some amorphous blob ready to smother citizens and soak up their money. We elect our government, then pay it to protect us and to provide services that ensure everyone gets treated fairly and safely - by anyone, including anyone who would do potential harm through their business practices. You are the government. I am the government. Hate government, hate yourself. Don't like what it does? Throw the rascals out. You say you've tried? And failed? Never mind. This is a democratic republic - from Minneapolis on up to the feds. Our system means we accept the outcome of elections and work on the next one.
