Liz absolutely speaks the truth. I live right by Hiawatha, and have to use and cross it daily. Traffic on and crossing Hiawatha is completely screwed up since the opening of light rail. The back ups and wait times at lights is maddening. Hiawatha finally became a decent road, with smooth flowing traffic (even if the speed limit was still ridiculously low) after the redesign, then along comes the train, and it's worse than the narrow, rickety pot-hole collection that used to serve as Hiawatha Ave. I'm convinced that the bad timing of lights is deliberate in an effort to pack more bodies on the train, as they can't drive the corridor anymore without giving themselves a stroke from the stress. Seriously, though, who engineered the timing of the lights on Hiawatha? Anybody know? Dan McGrath Longfellow REMINDERS: 1. Think a member has violated the rules?
