Let's look at what value this field would have to soccer playing Minneapolis residents. The Park Board and DeLaSalle think that the Park Board could use the field for league play when it is not being used by DeLaSalle. First, this means that it would only be available for organized Minneapolis Park soccer leagues. The field would be locked to neighborhood kids who just want to toss a ball around or play a game with friends. Second, DeLaSalle would use the field during the fall and spring, for extra-curricular athletics and for gym classes. That leaves the field presumably available only in the summer. A quick check of the Park Board's website will show the Park Board's youth soccer league ONLY plays during the fall. The Park Board's football league ONLY plays during the fall. Hmmm ...
