gym classes occur during the school day where most neighborhood kids should be, in school. they probably would be using it at that time. as for extra curricular athletics. those run immediately after school which at a high school is 2 hours before elementary schools get out? i could be wrong on the end of the school days but that is what i remember. >That leaves the field presumably available only in the summer. A quick check of the Park Board's website will show the Park Board's youth soccer league ONLY plays during the fall. The Park Board's football league ONLY plays during the fall. there is enough light in the fall to start a soccer game at 6pm and then there is all day on saturday and sunday if they want it. for full disclosure, i really don't care what they do with the field. i don't have a problem with it but won't lose any sleep if they don't do it. I have never been on nicollet island, don't have kids or know of any friends who have kids that go or have gone to de lasalle. i just thought the idea that the schools use and the city's use couldn't coincide was a little far fetched.
