You can write uzix software using asm, all you have to do is beware of the
memory
location of your software (in order to not erase uzix's code) and you can't use
DI .
AFAIK, it's only that, but you'd better ask Adriano about it.

If you know Unix, you know Uzix. And if you don't, it will be a good chance
to learn it, because Linux is coming strong. :-) As I said, you could write asm
software
in uzix, about direct access, ask Adriano.

I heard you can use EP (or another software, i don't use them) and run uzix as a
dsk file in your HD.
Anyway, I'll suggest you to use BRMSX, is the best MSX development platform in
my opinion (UZIX,
Fudebrowser, MUST, GEM and others were written using BRMSX Full Debug).
