You're right, stupid of me.

I have one too (although I hardly ever use my MSX2+)(it's slow (no 7MHz)).

It will also work without. Just not smooth.

:) I always thought -from a user's view- a lot of options were cool. But
from a programmer's choice I tend to try to evade them, since they bring a
lot of extra work.

I do not understand. It's so easy, and so cheap! An IDE interface (and I
said this before) costs only 40 euros!!!

The SCSI-interfaces we had before were much more expensive... My BERT (the
last one) cost 75 euros, and it is about the slowest interface around (which
I didn't realize at that point, because an MCCM test was talking about v2.8
which was really speedy but it was never released, and I thought v2.7 was
the same... NOT!!!).

And a MegaSCSI costs even something around 150 euros. Not to mention the
SCSI-harddisks, which are hard to get, also expensive... IDE is cheap and
can be acquired easily (also second-hand).

So hail Sunrise and their IDE-interface!!!

It's not 'CD only', it was just an idea which is floating around in my mind
already for some time, as an extra feature for CD-ROM player owners.

Whatever you want.

I won't charge money for the engine itself. I never do for utils, certainly
not if they are still under development and open-source. And if it
stimulates the game-development for MSX, money is the last thing I will
think about.

I will charge money for the game I hope to create myself though.
