All I know is that the routine to play music on them is slightly different,
and you couldn't play SD-Snatcher with a Snatcher SCC+, so I definately
think it's important to indicate which of them is needed. If it's easy to
emulate them both at the same time, that's a matter of the emulator. But you
can't assume the emulator to handle both, because if there is a new emulator
which for some obscure reason can not emulate both SCC+es, or needs to be
notified of which one is used, it won't be in the file!
