I suppose, if they're using Picard, and already have the tracks extracted. It won't work in any media players on an inserted disc that I'm aware of. How quickly can a media player compute PUIDs for all unextracted tracks on an inserted disc? My guess is it will take a few minutes at least. As I don't use PUIDs, I'm not really qualified here though. I'd defer to others in MB who better understand it.
