I have just had an idea about this. The main time that I want to access the parent is to adjust the Due Date that is determining the date shown against a child that is appearing in the To Do view.
Could we have an icon which appears when the Due Date for an item is being determined by an item higher in the hierarchy rather than by the Due Date of the item itself. Clicking on this icon will then take you to the properties the higher level item - preferably without leaving the To Do view so that you can update the Due Date. > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] > [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Richard C > Sent: 29 August 2009 2:52 p > To: MyLifeOrganized > Subject: [MLO] Feature request: option to show immediate > parent in To Do view > > > > Sometimes it would be good to be able to access the immediate > parent of a task when in the To Do view without returning to > the Outline view. > > Would it be be possible to have a 'Show parent' tick box next > to (say) the Auto Update tickbox which would quickly allow > you to bring the parents of each item into view without > altering the order of the items. > > It would be a bit like Group by parent but this appears to > alter the order (Aside: can anbody tell me what determines > the order of the parents when you choose the Group by Parent order > > This would be very useful for example when you have a parent > with a due date that is determining the due dates of the > items appearing in the view and you want to update that due date. > > It would also be very useful to have the 'Done' tick box > available for the parent. > > > --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MyLifeOrganized" group.
