Follow-up Comment #3, bug #18293 (project mypaint):
marand, hi. Can you test the (hopefully) attached patch? It should apply
cleanly against b5c009fa16a249ee02f42585[...] using "git am".
This experimentally turns on resizes initiated by GTK, but performed by the
WM using fancy EWMH footwork. It looks a lot cleaner under Compiz admittedly,
though not so much under my non-composited test environments (they might be
using the emulation described in the begin_resize_drag docs). For me under
Compiz, some, but not all, resizes start with the orange preview rectangle
bigger than the window itself. Actually not that bad once you come to expect
it, and I know the behaviour is nicer under earlier Compizes.
I'll address window decorations separately.
