Follow-up Comment #16, bug #18834 (project mypaint):
Switching the GUI to something that is not GTK+ means rewrite the brush
selector, brush settings list, brush mapping widget, background selector,
layers dialog, tablet input code, save dialogs, exception handler, brushset
import code, brush group selector, color picker, color history, toolbar,
preferences window, docking system, layer window, keyboard shortuct handling,
and probably other things.
You can reuse the brush library, the brush collection, the undo system,
openraster save/load, and maybe the brushmanager. But you would still be
writing a new GUI from scratch.
If that's what you want to do, go for it! It is probably not so hard to get a
few basics working, and might be a fun project. But it will take some time
until it gets really usable. I may join the effort if you ever get that far
:-) until then, I will watch this project from afar with interest.
