If you got the linux developers kit for the PS/2 you could probably make it work.. however by the time you bought the rather expensive kit, hard drive and then built your system it would be much cheaper to buy an xbox front end or another PC.
The PS/2 just doesn't have the cpu power either.. you would have to be skilled on coding for the specific video card/sound card to try and offload cpu to the gpu as much as possible..
