Hi, I spent more than 5 hours trying to figure out how to make use of my HDTV. I was able to install the latest nvidia drivers on 2.6.11-rc4 and I am able to see X in my computer monitor fine. However, I want to see in my HDTV what I am seeing in my computer monitor. I think, they call it twinview. I'm also sure that my HDTV supports 1920x1080i since I installed windowsXP and latest nvidia windows driver and was able to see my Windows in hdtv however, there is an overscan(i'll fix this later). Also, I don't know if these modlines I captured via monifo is usefull for xorg.conf entries. http://restricted.dyndns.org/moninfo.txt Can someone please send me a working xorg.conf that will be appropriate for VGA and DVI connections? Thanks, Neil
You didn't say how you had everything connected. I'm assuming that you have an nvidia card with both VGA and DVI and you've connected to the HDTV via the DVI port. Nvidia uses a dual-head doodad called 'Twinview'... you need to look through the README that came with the NVidia linux driver to figure out how to turn it on. It sounds like you're looking for "Clone" mode, as opposed to "RightOf" or "LeftOf".
That said, I believe NVidia drivers are known to be broken for 1080i at the moment. I haven't tried any of this recently, however, so my knowledge is stale and unreliable... :)
