While I was at the hospital the doctor told me that they were going to take more blood and test for gluten sensitivity. A week later they called me with the results. I had elevated transglutaminase (tTG) levels. Now on Monday I have to go in for an endoscopy to determine if I have celiac disease/gluten sensitivity. Which there is no cure for only the treatment of being on a gluten-free diet for the rest of my life. This is the last resort in finding a reason for my unexplained iron-deficiency anemia. To make a long story short, I found out that there is a link between UTI's and celiac disease. I have talked to people and researched on the internet that in most cases, if a person is suffering from bladder infections, goes on a gluten-free diet, it cures their bladder problems. My best friend is having a similar problem. She is in pain constantly. She has all of the symptoms of Interstitial cystitis. You can research this as well. Her doctor gave her pills telling her that she just has a weak bladder. The pills are not working for her. She is going to have the test for gluten and see how it plays out. I am not saying that you have any of these problems. I just wanted to tell you of my experiences and inform you of more avenues to for you to research. Good luck. I left with a UT infection that they gave me a prescription for but i continuously got worse instead of better. They changed my medication and i am still not feeling well even though i went to Urgent care last night and they told me it looked like it had cleared up. My symptom is that i feel like i have to pee all the time and at night i feel like my bladder is going to explode and no pain pills they have given me have helped. I thought it could be a yeast infection so they gave me a pill to take but its still not better. Has anyone else had this and am i just being too impatient.
