Diana already said it, but plan ahead. Right now you should be all taken care of for summer advertising and thinking about autumn, and by July you should be planning your Christmas displays and specials, etc. Once you get rolling, you can start getting *your* marketing needs pre-booked and paid for (like flyers, signs, retail packages, etc - whatever advertising it is that you wish to do) and then you'll be the among the first ones advertising when the seasons change. It never ceases to amaze me how many salons leave this stuff to the last minute and then gripe when all the really good bundled retail is gone and they're left with mulberry candles taped to the crappy conditioner that no one was buying in the first place:D
