Lynnette,] I went to a client's house once years ago (well I would have np going today also just telling about this one! ) she was my favorite client and one of my first ones. She had pancreatic cancer....was going on her second year with it and had JUST come out of the hospital so she could go to her son's wedding......so I went to her house and put a set on her....I remember bringing polish that matched her dress but I can't remember if I charged her or not! But what I do remember...is she didn't last long after that....and I am soooo glad I was able to help her get there...being able to go to that wedding made her sooo happy! Go for it and as someone said ...follow your gut feelings....

It really does mean so much to family when people reach out and do something so wonderful for their loved ones in times like this. For instance, your mother or grandmother is dying and their nail tech came to the house and drove all that way. This is what I would be thinking...My mother/grandmother really was a special person, her nail tech did this for her on her death bed. I think just going to the house and making her nails look pretty and visiting with her while you do her nails is a wonderful thing to do weather you charge her or not. Ok, now that I have thought more about it, maybe you should charge. Just do what comes natural at the time when they ask "How much?" Then I had to go visit my father who is in the hospital. (Stage 4 pancreatic cancer). So I thought I could go Wednesday night. Sooooo, here is the question: she is almost an hour away. Do I charge her? For the service? For travel? I plan on putting her in pink and whites so she can go a month without a fill and the nails will still look good. If I do not do her nails before she dies she will come back to haunt me!!! She is my longest standing client from when I started nails in this area. So, what would YOU do? Charge or not?
