Renee, I have also had this happen several times with the first coat of color. Mostly with the dark frosty Gelish colors. Hmm? I guess it could be in the base. I just assumed it was in the color. It kinda looks like there was oil left on the nail. Like it was separating like you described in circles.

In addition to sometimes having a shrinkage problem, I also sometimes find a "dimpled" look to the base coat when I remove it from the lamp. That's the best way I can describe it...really uneven and with roundish dimples in the gel like it was moving around while it was exposed to the light. Sometimes the other layers cover it up, and sometimes that base layer just makes any other layers look awful. I don't always have this happen...my bulbs are brand new, I just changed them. I have put it on really thin, and I have also tried putting it on a bit thicker like a polish thickness. I always stir it really well before applying. Any ideas?
