I have been thinking about what Becky said, she doesn't let her clients have
their hands back while she is applying the gel polish. They go for their
phones,
scratch their itches and move their hair out of their face. They could get oil
on their nails real easy and also cause this to happen. I am going to have to
get tougher on these ladies.

Yep, you're description is right on, Becky. Well I had this happen this past
Sat. I had done a mani, but after the mani I had her wash her hands, cleaned
the
nail plate with alcohol, then I took the shine off the nail. I also used YN
protein bond. You think that have been the cause? Surely there wasn't any oil
left on the nail after the washing, alcohol and filing off the shine?

Renee, the dimpled look that you're referring to sounds like there might have
been oil on the nail plate, or just some small bit of contamination. My clients
aren't allowed to have their hands once I begin the application process because
they seem to mess with their hair, scratch their face, wipe their hands in
their
clothing, etc... Any if these things will cause the gel to skate around on the
nail... What you're describing is what happens to me if a client has gotten
something on their nails... I can't describe what I mean, but think of how oil
and water dont mix, they kind of form little bubbles from each other... That is
kind of what's happening with the gel. I have had it happen when I do a Uv top
coat over pink and whites, it is SO frustrating because nothing fixes it except
filing it all off and starting over.
