Hello everyone.
I have been sitting here "listening" to this conversation about the person's
impressions of Netconnect.
This is an exert from "Guppy's" message:

I know that things are subject to people's opinions. But it is these
opinions that make or break things sometimes.
The last line of the quote above that I included.
I was waiting for MORE than a year to get NC2 and when I did it took a LOT
of work on MY part to make it work BECAUSE the people who sell it are SLACK
at giving backup and support.
I know this is going to get me flamed but I am allowed my opinion.
I am in this and the AMIRC mailing list. I hardly post to them. It has
taken me a LOT of work to even get the postings to work. (this may not be
the first time I have tried to post this message - if there is no further
mention of the problem, then it did work).
I am in Australia and it would seem the internet is not that good here that
I still don't have NC3. How long has it been out now?
Now, before you say, "Buy it from the people in England." I was trying
this 2 years ago, and got NO reply to MANY e-mails to MANY companies who
were advertising selling Netconnect in Amiga Magasines.
I have Netconnect working and can bare the pains of getting it working. It
has a couple of things that stop me going to Miami. What they are is NOT
for discussion.
The people who make Netconnect though are doing a good job to tick me off
and not support their product.
I have NOTHING against them personally. I have e-mailed Ollie and Federico
about their programs and they do reply and help me, but the overall
management are HOPELESS!
"Mr Morden" and I have spoken at the WOA in Canberra and it nearly erupted
to more than it should of, but luckily common sence prevailed.
I am a customer. As is Samy.
I see that at least he is getting help.
I was getting flack big time when I was trying to get my problems resolved;
and I can honestly say that they were not really solved. I was given
"alternatives" to "work around" the problem.
Though the result was the same, it is a fair cry short of what is claimed to
be able to be done in the whole scheme of things.
I have been using Netconnect for 12 months now - or just under to be truley
honest.
I have NOT got Netconnect 3 and am waiting for the importer to be able to
get it.
I don't use half the programs on the CD as either they don't work and I have
just given up on them or I don't like them.
Ok, the latter is a personal thing, and I can't blame anyone (but myself)
for it.
But It is amusing (from where I am sitting) to see that even After 2 (or was
it 3) service packs and a whole work over that there are STILL bugs in the
setup.
What SHOULD be done (and I can't see it on the home page) is that a general
posting is sent to all in the list and it tells us of the "features" and
how they are being addressed.
When service packs are sent out, they should do a propper job of fixing the
problem. Not a half hearted effort.
The problems with keys and libraries and the like were a headache for people
with version 2.1 and 2.2.
I know that what I am suggesting would be a lot of work and is NOT easy.
But hey, it would keep your customers happy.
Isn't that a good idea? Happy customers? I know it is a novel idea, but it
just may work.
Meanwhile I sit here with Version 2.2 and watch the whole thing happen again
what happened to me a year ago.
Duck shoving.
Please - everyone! Lets all work together. Lets try to keep the Amiga and
Netconnect a viable option.
DO NOT let the Amiga die because of slack support.
And I hope that before the new year I will be using NC3.
Regards
