Hi,

Sorry guys, slightly misquoted the problem. The second time, Genesis
doesn't dial out, it just says "dialing... attempt 1/15" and hangs.
Guess that rules out ISP problems.

I don't usually use my Amiga for many other things when I access the
web, so it's mainly going to be other NC3 progs - either CM, V or
occasionally mFTP. However, this happens every time after I've started
Genesis, and the only chipmem hogger there potentially is V.
It's a possibilty though. I'll pay more attention to what I use
between log ons.
Oh, BTW, it doesn't matter if I close Genesis or leave it running, the
same thing happens.
A late addition: I logged on to pick up my mail, logged off and read
messages, wrote some replies. Without having closed Genesis or MD, I
clicked connect so I could send my replies - boom! Genesis hung as
described above, so I clicked Send on my reply so I didn't lose it,
and after saving the message in Spool, MD also hung. No other programs
were used or even loaded in memory between log ons, although I've just
remembered I have a few commodities and background processes running
at startup. I'll try without them.

And to reply to John Chandler:
I really can't remember how long this has been going on. I was only
aware of it a few weeks ago, but it may have been like it all along.

As for hardware - I added a Surf Squirrel to my system before I
upgraded to NC3, partly for extra speed, partly to free up my serial
port for a MIDI interface. Maybe it's that? I'll try.

Thanks

Jimbo
