Don't have a Pace modem, but here are a few general things to check in
your modem manual/Genesis settings:

Make sure the handshaking matches (you should be using RTS/CTS)
Make sure the baud rate matches (try setting it to 38400 in Genesis if
you're having trouble)

I'm pretty sure that you'll be able to get it to work in the end. I'm sure
I've heard of other people using Pace 56ks on Amigas and in the end a
modem is (essentially) a modem...
