Nettamer doesn't always do effective video detection. If you bought a new
computer recently, it's likely that's why. What routinely happens where I
work may be instructive. We have running the latest and greatest edition of
Microsoft's sms system on our network. By latest and greatest, I mean we
have the last upgrade that was done for the product and that was something
like two years ago. Part of what sms does beyond keystroke detection is
software monitoring. As a result of the latest upgrade, user services has
to downgrade new computers that arrive because sms doesn't know all about
the latest drivers on those new systems and freaks out and makes life very
unpleasant for all concerned. Consider the last time nettamer was upgraded,
and consider the version that runs on your computer and consider today's
date and all of the newer drivers that have come out on the market in the
intervening time. That may explain why.
