If the message hasn't caused N-T to choak then like always you can save the
html file and use either the htm to txt converter or their's another one
called htm strip or something like that I can't recall it's full name.
    These work ok but it would be a second operation. If Dave put that
function right into the reader of N-T this would be a great function.
However, I don't think their has been any work done on N-T or the reader in
specific so that's likely not going to happen. I don't know where Dave has
gone with Nettamer but I fear it's ending up as abandedware.
    Anyways, if the file still causes N-T to choak when reading then theirs
no real easy way to get at that file but to stop reading and doing some of
the things that you have already tried to do like cut and paste. I really
never need to do this because whenever I get this type of message it's
always been spam and I can tell what spam it is by reading the subject line
from the roater function in Nettamer. Then I just "e" the file and move on!
    All these problems in my mind stem from the reader function in Nettamer
and I really haven't found where the viedo card plays a role in that error.
As for the memory I'm not certain but that might have something to do with
it but that's much harder to determine I believe.
    I guess it's just that Nettamer is and can be a lot of things but it's
not everything and we just need to remember that. As long as the majority
of mail is text well that's fine but if it goes over to html for the
majority of messages then I believe their's going to be a day of change
needed for sure and N-T just won't be able to keep-up. However I don't
think that day is here by a long shot just because in the majority of mail
lists that I belong to which are not blindness related and are not computer
geeks, the majority of those common folks all post in text for some reason.
So they seem to have the basic good sense to figure out that not everyone is
using html for mail.
    Anyways hope you figure it out for yourself.

   -you are right indeed. after all what makes microsoft sell is the
   -effort made to keep users in the dark about how things work. in
   -yahoo, when one joins a list you can choose to have the html left
   -out. i still wish we had an html filter as a part of nettamer.
   -actually I still need one in general, but to have to take a message,
   -save it, filter it, only to dump it seems like a lot of trouble.
   -i would love to see from nettamer a
   -"filter this message to remove html characters?
   -from a speech standpoint it sounds frightful!

   ->Hello All,
   ->Yes I have also these double messages all of the time on
   ->any number of lists. I think that it just boils down to the fact
   ->that majority of the senders do not know their e--mail program and
   ->do not know how to change the setting and or that they just don't
   ->care because they don't understand how the net works and they
   ->believe that everyone uses just what they use. Many of these users
   ->have most likely not been around very many years and they do not
   ->know a thing about text or much else than what their gui program
   ->will default to when setting it up. When I recieve a double message
   ->it always comes first text and then the html. So I can remove the
   ->message after reading the text part. Only spam comes to me in true
   ->html only without a text part. When I recieve one of these I can
   ->generally read the first few lines to get an idea as to what the
   ->html is going for and then just remove the file because it's just
   ->trash. Once and a while I also recieve the error (5) message and I
   ->believe for me its related to the larger spam messages. I cannot
   ->read these but when going into the Nettamer list of files before
   ->reading I can tell what the listing is and most frequently it's a
   ->spam wo I just (e) the file and have it resort and the offending
   ->file is removed. I don't think that it is related to sounds or the
   ->viedo setting.
