the knowledge gained of the underlying concepts and workflows from one tool
and platform usually roll to the other.
if you've cut your teeth with doze, exploder, and an office suite,
it takes almost no time to adapt to say ubuntu, firefox, and openoffice.org

ditto for graphics and multimedia authoring,
so please don't consider this a big issue.
