civilizations have discovered the best way to create and share content across all divides; that can be used both verbatim and re-mixed; and which can last centuries, is to stick to the good old grand oral tradition.
interestingly, anything that *originates* from the grand oral tradition, can be transcribed and translated too. all this for audio. for visual, stick to cave paintings and stone sculptures, though hieroglyphs have a tendency to get obfuscated over time. some tibetan-buddhists have found a rather ingenious solution for preserving their scriptures. they memorize them verbatim. thus, if their written scriptures are destroyed or burnt, and they themselves are killed or die eventually, they come back(*) using their re-incarnation hack, and re-author their still memorized scriptures. creative karma would eventually succeed creative commons. regards niyam (*) = pics or it didn't happen. _______________________________________________ network mailing list [email protected] http://lists.fosscom.in/listinfo.cgi/network-fosscom.in
