----cj's reply----
Dude, the only way i uninstall mandriva is like the others said. But instead of using 3rd party partitioning software, i use FDISK (Not recommended because FDISK cant really access some of hte linux swap partitions, leaving a lot of unaccessable space which cant be used). So i would recommend either using partition majic or some 3rd party partitioning program (like a partitioning program that came with your hard drive if you bought and installed a hard drive.)

But pretty much, the only way to uninstall mandriva is to either take out the mandriva partition or install a different linux version (a different linux version will take out the linux partitions and rewrite the hard drive with its own..how ever, some may have mandriva partition capabilities and will give you the option of installing that linux version on the mandriva partition)

Or if you have no windows installed on the laptop and want to put it back,
just do a clean install of windows and reformat the drive with the windows xp
install or is it setup. HTH
