Ok, stepping in very late here, at no point have you told us which
version of Mandriva you installed, you've told us neither your
hardware configuration nor where you obtained the installation media.

However. I think you also want to recover the hard disk space which was
assigned to Linux by the install, am I correct?

There are _at least_ 3 methods to do this.

Method 1: Obtain Partition Magic or some similar hard disk partition
manager. Use that utility to remove the Linux partitions and then
resize your Windows to take up the entire disk space.

Method 2: Using the partition manager above change all the linux
assigned partitions to NTFS  or what ever, and format them. This may
give you a number of different drives: EG "D" "E" "F" etc AND shift and
CDroms you have as well.

Method 3: Backup all data files from XP and reinstall
