you are correct .. i did 'insinuate' but should have been more
succinct about the windows .. but the message title was how to
uninstall mandriva and i asked .. how to uninstall .. not how to
install windows ..

I kept it very short because i have been hammered before on *linux*
sites whenever the mention of windows is made .. so tried to keep it
short and to the point .. that was wrong

that you had BOTH installed - as in a dual-boot setup. Your email could
have been taken either way - ie; with windows also on your system or
with only Mandriva on your system.
