I think Xwrapper is usually a binary. it might be called different things, depending on your system. for instance Debian Linux just has it named /usr/X11R6/bin/X, rather than X just being a symlink to Xwrapper like a lot of other distros do it. It doesn't seem to be part of the core X distribution; X just seems to SUID root the XFree86 binary. (something of a security problem, that; but it does make things work).
