yes it does. I don't know why RH7.2 sets the symlink up that way; but I just
fixed that on a box at work. couldn't start X from the commandline (gave the
"couldn't open logfile" error), until I changed the symlink to point to Xwrapper.

but it's definitely that way on my machine at work (RH6.2) and my
workstation at home (Debian unstable).
