If your bad pixels are always in > the same places it's probably dead memory bits. I use a IBM 15XG / 9525 (15"). But it doesn't depend on the monitor, because I had the same problem with an 17" monitor before. The default resolution I use is 1024x768 (althought in the XF86Config, the highest possible resolution is 1152x864), 16 bit color. AFAIK, the dot clock is far bejond the rate the graphic card should be able to do. I attach my XF86Config for a second time now, this time within the mail :-). If it is caused by the dot clock, how do I lower it? Do I have to calculate the modlines by hand? I forgot to say: the pixels appear and disappear at different places, so it's not "dead memory bits". Thanks for the link, it's usefull. > > BTW, I just stumbled on something that might be useful to lots of folks: > http://www.openbsd.org/faq/faq11.html#11.6 Nice discussion of mode > lines and video tuning. > Have you had the card for 5 years? When did it start doing this? AFAIK, since I use Debian (first Potato, now Woody. Aproximately since September 2000) Regards Lucia Cosima Eiselstein _______________________________________________ Newbie mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] *** To unsubscribe , or change message options, see: http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/newbie
