V45 had the same problem in '83. There's a fix for it, I just haven't bothered with it because it's BOB's bike, not mine. He can get it done himself if he wants, but the bike seems to run just fine, I just remind him to always check his oil. The bike was a quart low when he bought it. ----- Original Message ----- From: Kyle K.K. My brother has a v65 and I thought it was the other way around. He had to do the oil mod so he could get more oil up top in his motor. His is an 84 Magna. I thought the v45 and the v30 did not have the oiling issue, but I could be wrong. -Kyle KK On Wed, Jun 3, 2009 at 7:28 AM, Graham Rogers <[email protected]> wrote: Kyle, the earlier, at least 1982 V45 did have the problem with oil not getting to the cams. I thought I read that they solved the problem or recocgnised it before the V65 came out and so were able to avoid it on the V65. Am I wrong on that? I looked at a 1982 V45 a few weeks ago and that's when I first read about the problem, Graham On Jun 3, 2009, at 8:19 AM, Kyle K.K. wrote: For that much, I'd pick it up. v45 didn't have the issues of the v65 engine (with oiling) if I remember correctly. -kyle kk On Wed, Jun 3, 2009 at 7:12 AM, NytWing <[email protected]> wrote: I've got a chance to pick up a 1983 V45 Sabre for $500. It's got 74K on the clock, looks like it's in decent shape from the pics. I believe it's 750cc. Any known problems with them? What should I be looking for if I decide to take it for a ride? --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
