Cleaned the crude and armature, put her all back together and bingo, we have starter again!!! Whoo Hoo!! I plan to order rebuild kit as the brushed were pretty worn and the case o rings expanded sitting out and dont seal well.
The inside was dripping with oil. Is there a seal or is the bearing bad allowing all that oil to get in the starter. There was a little in out play in the bearing/gear spline. I removed the snap ring but the spline would not come out of the bearing. I tapped it on the bench but it would not budge so I did not try to force and put the snap ring back on. Is there an o ring back there that I need to change? Thanks Dennis!!! I want to start taking longer rides and dont want to get stuck. I have cleaned and synked the carbs, sealed the fuel tank, replaced fork seals, rebuilt starter, is there anything else I shoul look at (preventative maintenance) ??? Or hard to find part I should stock for future. I plan to keep the bike a long time. On Jun 14, 1:18 am, Dennis Hammerl <[email protected]> wrote: > They get cruddy inside, no big deal.
