Hey Bull, I think I saw your post on sohc4.net. I'm the owner of the '83 Nighthawk who had the thread about the fork mods I was looking at. I've been bleeding my Clutch MC for the past couple of days. Another trick you have to do is to pump the lever to build pressure and hold it down then while holding the lever down crack the Banjo bolt at the MC open. About 3 times should do the trick. You'll hear air escape. I had to find that trick online as I was having the same problem.
